This course is offered over a full weekend - Saturday and Sunday 9.30am - 5.30pm.. Its designed for people who have experience in the mosaic art form and wish to expand their technical expertise and challenge their design application. It is also an opportunity to meet other like minded people who want to share their love of this art form.

During the two days we will cover:

. Creating texture in mosaics
. Learn how to design specifically for the mosaic art form
. Colour theory and the optical effects of different mosaic surfaces
. Substrate preparation and which glue to use - which I call the Philosophy of Glue
. Getting into the nitty gritty of Grout
. Cutting techniques for glass tiles, smalti, marble, and more
. An introduction to working with hammer and hardie

. Past mosaic practices like the Ravenna method and contemporary methods of fabrication
